Another new phenomenon entering the sporting arena and making it’s way into modern soccer training is the utilization of compression wear.
Compression wear works by providing a tight compressive fit over the essential muscles henceforth stabilizing them and promoting the supply of nutrients to them and removal of toxins accumulated. Compression wear also helps in reducing excessive vibrations to the muscles during training which can cause micro tears in the muscles and contribute to delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). Thus DOMS, a bane for most sportsman, can be reduced by using compression wear and goes a long way in helping them recover faster and training harder.
Compression wear also helps by keeping the essential muscles warm faster and longer which can be very useful in intense soccer training.
Another benefit of compression wear is the reduction in volume it confers on the muscles which in turn reduces the amount of lax space within the muscle tissues. This reduces the perfusion distance of the blood vessels and therefore there is greater efficiency in the transport of nutrition to the muscle cells and the removal of toxins like lactic acid which accumulates in heavily stressed muscles and can reduce the efficiency of the muscles. Therefore this greater efficiency translates to muscles which can perform better and last longer. Hence improved strength and endurance is conferred on the user. And all this is possible without the use of prohibited drugs.
Compression wear is not just limited to soccer training but has also been shown through numerous researches by sporting bodies and universities to enhance performance and strength itself. Famous professional soccer players have been seen wearing them during matches including Wayne Rooney and Samir Nasri.
Various brands and kinds of compression wear are available with the compression shorts, long sleeved compression shirts, calf compression wear and short sleeved compression shirt being the most popular amongst soccer players.
